Consensus among preference rankings: a new weighted correlation coefficient for linear and weak orderings

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract Preference data are a particular type of ranking where some subjects (voters, judges,...) express their preferences over set alternatives (items). In most real life cases, items receive the same preference by judge, thus giving rise to with ties. An important issue involving rankings concerns aggregation into “consensus”. The purpose this paper is investigate consensus between ties, taking account importance swapping elements belonging top (or bottom) ordering (position weights). By combining structure $$\tau _x$$ τ x proposed Emond and Mason (J Multi-Criteria Decis Anal 11(1):17–28, 2002) class weighted Kemeny-Snell distances, position rank correlation coefficient for comparing one-to-one correspondence distance proved, analytically speaking, using both equal decreasing weights.

A new consensus measure based on Pearson correlation coefficient

Obtaining consensual solutions is an important issue in decision making processes. It depends on several factors such as experts’ opinions, principles, knowledge, experience, etc. In the literature we can find a considerable amount of consensus measurement from different research areas (from a Social Choice perspective: Alcalde-Unzu and Vorsatz [1], Alcantud, de Andrés Calle and Cascón [2] and ...

Hospital rankings: a new challenge for MCDA and preference learning?

The aim of this paper is to convince the MultiCriteria Decision Aid (MCDA) and Preference Learning communities to investigate and to contribute in the development of methodologies dedicated to hospital ranking. To do so, we present the French hospital ranking and show how these rankings can be built properly through two existing methods: decision tree and ELECTRE Tri.

A new measure of consensus with reciprocal preference relations: The correlation consensus degree

The achievement of a ‘consensual’ solution in a group decision making problem depends on experts’ ideas, principles, knowledge, experience, etc. The measurement of consensus has been widely studied from the point of view of different research areas, and consequently different consensus measures have been formulated, although a common characteristic of most of them is that they are driven by the...

Visual Comparison of Orderings and Rankings

In many data analysis problems, sequentially ordered (or ranked) data occurs that needs to be understood and compared. Ranking information is essential in applications such as multimedia search where retrieval rankings need to be inspected; alignments of gene sequences in bio-molecular applications; or for a more abstract example, considering the permutations of rows and columns for purpose of ...
